Vinolia Apakoh is the CEO and Founder of BlackCellence Network. She is a trailblazer, a passionate community champion who strongly believes in supporting and contributing to the Saskatchewan community. At an early age she learnt the concept of community involvement, a mindset and inspiration instilled in her from her parents about giving back to society. Vinolia was born and raised in Ghana. She immigrated to Saskatchewan with her family in 2012 after a long period of stay in London, UK, making Regina home. Prior to moving to Saskatchewan, Vinolia was involved in the community in the UK in various leadership capacities. After moving to Saskatchewan, she realized there were a lot of Black unsung heroes within the province, who were contributing and making an impact within the community and needed to be celebrated. This is why she founded and started the BlackCellence Gala in 2022 in recognition of Black Excellence within our community. In Vinolia’s words, “BlackCellence is celebrating blackness and giving back into the community we call home”. Vinolia wears many hats! She is a Business Administrative Professional and the owner of Akwaaba Foods, a Ghanaian local food producer based in Regina. She is also actively involved in the community and volunteers in her local church. She is a wife, mother to three adult children and a grandmother. She loves volunteering, travelling, socializing, singing, and cooking.
